PROBES
I'm trying to use my photography as a jumping-off point to experiment with movement and motion graphics. Once I'd created a few pieces, I realized they needed something to complete them individually, and they needed something to tie them together... if they had both of these, they might start working as a whole project.
Being a designer, I decided to add a textual element to the pieces as a way of uniting them. The plan is to integrate a quote into each piece, and I've selected some quotes from Marshall McLuhan to fill that role. He's the father of media studies, and an amazing aphorist, so I figured he'd be a good source for some textual interplay. Each piece linked below also shows the possible quotes (or "probes") of McLuhan's that I plan on working into it as a moving typographical element.
The other thing these need, individually, are soundtracks. I could snag a few seconds from some of my music, but that would be a little bit hackey, and I'd rather get some input from somebody who really knows his/her shit about music. The soundtrack clips would be short, but the lengths are flexible (via the beauty of time stretching)... I can make these pieces anywhere from 15 seconds to 45 seconds. If you have anything you think would work well, or if you'd like to take a stab at all three, shoot me an e-mail. Of course, if I ever complete this project, I'll accredit you as a collaborator.
Here are the early versions of the motion graphics pieces, no typography in place yet, and obviously in need of some refinement:

Splash
Matchbook
Ghost Raft
